Pink Champagne took part in the 2nd race of the Henley Winter Series, organised by Henley Dragons and held at their base on the banks of Henley on Thames. It was a perfect November day with blue skies and sunshine, and not to cold once we started racing. There were 16 paddlers and we were joined by three ladies from the Wave Walker Dragon Boat Team. Mary Fletcher also kindly stepped in at short notice to drum for us, and Allen who continues to provide help and support to us was our helm.

The race is a 7 kilometer timed one up towards Temple Island and back, we managed a respectable time of 45 minutes which was good considering we did not have a full boat. Cheers and applause from passers by and the other boat crews kept us going as always.
